Freestone County Genealogy Research Library

Research Library

Come search through our many resources – photographs, family history files, books (including the History of Freestone County Volume I and II, which are available for purchase), County Confederate pension records, a large newspaper microfilm collection (from Fairfield, Teague, and Wortham) and many school yearbooks some dating back to the 1940s!

The Fairfield Recorder donated their yearly newspaper volumes dating back to 1926 to the museum in September 2017. We also have several years of bound volumes of the Freestone County Times on loan from the Fairfield Library.

If you are doing Freestone County genealogical research and would like some help please give the museum a call to find a time to meet with our museum genealogist.  It's always best to schedule an appointment in advance.
